Goals
Test if the application is bug-free and meets the client and end-user requirements.
The Challenge
The project presented several significant obstacles during the testing phase. Working with a remote team proved difficult due to the application's high complexity, making it challenging to communicate effectively and understand how the application was supposed to operate. Additionally, the application was built using React technology, which was unfamiliar territory for the team and created a steep learning curve in understanding how the framework rendered data. As the application matured and new features were continuously added, maintaining quality standards became increasingly complex, requiring extensive regression testing while simultaneously learning and adapting to new modules.
The Solution
To address these challenges, the team implemented several strategic approaches. Daily scrum meetings were scheduled after shift hours to facilitate better communication with the remote team and ensure alignment on application functionality. The team dedicated time to learning React technology and understanding its data rendering mechanisms to build the necessary technical expertise. For managing ongoing integration and quality assurance, regular meetings were arranged with the remote team to clarify requirements, and a comprehensive test case repository was created and continuously updated with each change. This documentation strategy not only maintained application quality but also streamlined the onboarding process for new team members joining the project.
